Have you ever looked at the ingredients of the supplements and vitamins in most Supplement Stores?
Most of the time, the ingredients are terrible.
People buy them without reading ingredients.
Basically, they look at how much protein or how much of whatever nutrients they may need.
It’s like signing a contract without reading the small print.
But you know what? I understand it.
For I used to do the same thing with food.
I would look at carbs, protein, and fat, but especially protein during my bodybuilding days. But I didn’t always look at ingredients, nor was I knowledgeable at the time in what to look for except for a few things.
When I began to learn of a few ingredients to look out for. Meaning, ingredients you didn’t want in your supplements or even food for that matter. I found that many supplement stores sell products with inferior ingredients.
Now, this wasn’t all supplement stores, but most.
I did find 2 stores that had some pretty good supplements and vitamins.
They are:
Vitamin Shoppe
Vitamin World
Other than that, I found the best supplements in grocery stores and health food stores.
First, supporting your local health food store is always a good thing. They usually connect with a lot of local businesses and farmers. Second, local health food stores are going to strive to sell things with the best ingredients.
Chain health food stores, like:
Sprouts
Whole Foods
My Organic Market (Better known as MOM’S)
Grocery stores, like:
Wegmans
Giant/Martin’s
(These are East Coast stores)
Wal-Mart
Lastly, online stores, like:
Thrive Market
Lifetime Fitness
Amazon
Bodi/Beachbody
One could also go online and order directly from the supplement company themselves.
So, remember when shopping for supplements and vitamins. Don’t just look at how much of whatever nutrients you’re looking for are in it. Look for what’s in it as well, ingredient wise.
