Some basics to talk to your doctor about

Happy New Year or 2024.

Here are some basics to talk to your doctor about

My hope is that you don’t have to see a doctor to much, save for general check-ups.

But if you do, I hope you got a good doctor that listens, partners with you, looks out for your best interest and knows when to refer out to someone who does the same.

When you go for a general physical. Talk with your doctor and a RD if need be.

Talk with your healthcare team about hydration/water intake, fiber intake, protein intake, sugar intake. The best grains to have, the best legumes to have and so forth. What starchy carbs are best for you and don’t raise your blood sugar to much? What fruits and vegetables are best for you? Is there a better timing to have certain meals? Are certain food combinations a concern? Do you have allergic reactions or food sensitivities to certain foods, even if it isn’t major?

Ask them about certain testing that may need to be done or which test are best for you.

Ask them about toxicity, your bodies acidic level, oxidative stress, inflammation, gut health, how much should you be eliminating/bowel movements a day, brain health, gut health, metabolic health.

Ask your doctor to refer you to healthcare professionals who can help you keep up with your eye health, oral health and so forth.

Ask if you would need to get a personal trainer to. So, you get a proper fitness program that is specific for you.

About a week ago I finished the book “Food” by Dr. Mark Hyman. Even though the book deals mainly with food groups. It does mention certain medical test that could be helpful. The website to the book has a lot of resources. Most of which are mentioned in his book as well.

“Food” Book by Dr. Mark Hyman resources-

Here are some professionals or consultants who have testing, talk about them or both.

Dr. Philip Ovadia

What do People mean by ‘Cardiovascular Health’?

Dr. Stephan Cabral

Free Labs

(He has a free book as well. One of which I got as well)

Dr. Jim Sharps

Rachel Sheer

Here is something I just found, so I don’t know anything about it. It popped up while I was watching the RBTI video.

Being free, I say, why not. Like the book from Dr. Cabral.

The Doctor’s name is Dr. Livingood.

One more free book from him.

Only with Dr. Cabral I had listened to his podcast a few years ago. Plus, I knew of him when he was a Personal Trainer before he became a Naturopathic Doctor. So, I was somewhat familiar with him.

As a Personal Trainer Dr. Cabral had won the PFP Personal Trainer of the Year, when they used to have it (PFP, www.fit-pro.com )

As always, I hope this has been informative. I hope it motivates you to research for yourself. Empowers you to take more responsibility for your health. Helps you to ask your healthcare team better questions. Gives you a better understanding of your healthcare teams answers and to act, if need be, for better health outcomes. Always being proactive with your health and reactive in the best way if the need unfortunately arises.
